Bandaids and Underwear

So yesterday was Bandaid day. Why do kids like bandaids so much??? All it took was a tiny fall while at the park yesterday, for LP to decide that he needed about a dozen of the sticky things on his legs, a few on his chest, and one on the tip of each finger. So much for leaving the bandaid box (you know, the mommy-size box, the one you get with 200 in it because you're getting a better deal) on the bathroom counter... and then leave to change JS's diaper. Yup, you come back to bandaid-camouflage boy.
But what else do you see in this picture??? C'mon!! It's so obvious to me, but most likely not to others. THAT'S NOT A DIAPER-BUM!!! LP is now proudly wearing underwear! We started last Thursday and the first day and a half was horrible, I think he had about 12 accidents despite the fact we were bribbing him with mini-oreos and I was ready to give up (again, this is try number three over the past year). But since Friday night, he is a master of the potty. WOO-OO! I am so excited I don't have to change his dirty diapers anymore!

Bravo Louis-Pasca!

We had a nice family bbq supper with JM's parents and Jenny stopped by with her daugther Azallis. It was a nice relaxing evening.

Here is a picture of JM with his gift from LP, a mug he made for Papa at Clay Café, a little shop in downtown Fredericton. A great little place where you can pick what you want to make, paint it and they glaze and bake it for you. So it turned out pretty nice!
Here are some pictures of JS with his grandparents.
With Mémére. Nice face JS.
JS with Grandpa and Grandma.
LP and Azallis had fun playing in the sand box. These two love each other a lot and play really well together considering they can't understand each other's language. But LP did recently add a new word to his very limited english vocabulary: mine. He was using it a lot last night!! Appropriate for a 2 year old who has issues sharing at times I suppose.

JS at 4 months

JS on Mothers' Day... and who is now 4 months old. He is being rocked in Grand-maman's arms, convinced he does not need to nap. Picture, as usual, courtesy or tante 'manda, JS's godmother.

Happy belated Mothers' Day to all those special mothers I know. I hope you had a great day with your families!

Work in Progress...

Well, I thought I should post a few pictures of the "work in progress" of our renovation project. A lot done, but so much more to go.

The before of the entry/mud room, aka at the time: the Cave.

Now, JM is laying down the slate tile and finishing the trim this week... then it will be complete! Sexy construction guy working hard in the picture is JM...

The slate tile was NOT a good green option - oops. We've just helped destroy gorgeous mountains in India through cheap labour... ouch times 3. But we did buy green paint with no VOCs... and I have to tell you, I was amazed. I love this paint. Better than any paint I've tried and it's a self primer. So even though we paid a bit more for it, it only needed 2 coats, without a primer. Plus there was no smell and it was nice to roll on. So I can paint while the kids are napping or sleeping and not worry about smell or fumes... very nice.JS's room before...

...And now. We are quite happy with the cork flooring in the bedrooms, very comfortable and warm for laying on the floor to play! The entire house is still missing the trim and new interior doors as you will notice. We have also switched all lighting to more energy efficient bulbs, all heating is now programmable (although still electricity for the moment), all water taps are now more efficient as well... so slowly getting to things.

And yes... that's JS dreaming away in there!

LP's room before...

...And after. It's hard to take good pictures in the bedrooms, I can't get everything, but it gives you a little idea that we have not been taking it easy in the past 3 months!

Much more to show... but it will have to wait for another post and just a few more developments!

...Continued

...Continued

I swear this is all from his little brain... all by himself. Man he is making us laugh tonight!!

Nana called me this morning to share some funny stories of what LP had to say today...

(million dollars question!!)

Louis-Pascal: "Dans la forêt avec les ours."

Ya think his father might be a biologist?????

LP Growing Up...

Yesterday evening, JM was reading the newspaper and LP decided to join in. He ran to get one of his books and plopped himself beside JM to imitate him. What's even funnier, is that he was actually "reading" the book, remembering what we read to him on each page... and the book's title was "Caillou et son Papa" !!
And here is LP rocking his Caillou doll while Maman rocks JS... he actually brought "his" rocking chair upstairs from the playroom downstairs, all by himself so he could rock with us!
And a few other ones of him enjoying being photographed... I can't believe that in less than 3 months he'll be 3 years old!

oops marraine!!! haha!
Vite! On retourne à la maison!!
