Olivia & LP

This video is hilarious. We took it a couple of months ago and I completely forgot to post it - so here it is Stephanie!!

We had our friends Darrin, Stephanie and baby Olivia over for supper one evening and the babies were having fun with the new push-car I got LP. Olivia being the strong, busy charater that she is, was pushing the car, and LP being the easy-going, take it all in guy, was enjoying being pushed while munching on his cracker. This is so typical of their relationship, maybe that's why it's so funny to us. Unfortunately this is the only video we kept for some reason, the other ones where longer and funnier, Olivia pushing LP down the hall pretty hard while growling and LP was totally enjoying the ride, laid back, chillin'. This video is just a few seconds long, and LP ends up falling, crying and Olivia keeps going (all very typical of their relationship!!) and then me laughing... but it was so funny at the time!!

Louis-Pascal a 1 ans! / LP is 1 year old!

Nous sommes pas mal en retard à faire des ajouts sur le blog dernièrement!! On est ocuppé à apprécier notre été avec notre garçon qui grandit tellement vite.

This is a bit late posting!! We've been busy enjoying the summer with our little guy who's growing up so fast.

Louis-Pascal a eu deux fêtes pour son premier anniversaire, une avec sa famille et une avec ses amis. On s'est amusé! Louis-Pascal a pris ses premiers pas à 11 mois, mais il a commencé à marcher à pleine force la journée de sa fête - trop mignon! Voici quelques photos des deux journées...

So LP had 2 birthday parties... one with family, and one with friends. It was fun! Although he took his first steps at 11 months, the day of his birthday he decided to take off walking - it was pretty cute. Here are few pictures of both days...

And the Hemens family came to celebrate with us from Truro, Nova Scotia, but the only cute pictures I have of the kids together are all of them in the bathtub... Not very appropriate for internet use! But THANK YOU so much for coming! LP had a blast getting to know the kids and we really enjoyed spending time with you again.

This is for you, Marla!

I know this really amazing woman that I feel honored to have had to opportunity to meet during the time I called Saskatoon home. She is the type of woman who is inspirational to others, who empowers a community and who is passionate about what she does. She has given of her time, energy and passion, over and over again, to her jobs (yes, many jobs), to her community, to her students, to her colleagues, to her family.

Marla has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I feel very incapable of helping her, being 5 provinces away, but she is often in my thoughts. I decided to do something for Marla, here in Fredericton, to let her know how much I think about her, hoping that my positive thoughts reach her and brighten her up a bit.

So I cut my hair today!!! For those who know me well, my hair is a big part of ME, who I am. (I look pretty tired and not really put together in this photo, but it's the end of the day... and I really am that tired right now!) I've NEVER had short hair... but for Marla, I have chopped off 12 inches and have donated it in Marla's name, to make wigs for cancer patients going through chemotherapy.

Marla, it is because of people like you that Saskatchewan is a special place for me, and for others. I am so greatful to have had the chance to work with you (and "climb" more than a few "mountains" together or "break down" a few "walls"!!). You are an amazing woman and I have a great deal of admiration for your passion, dedication and strength. My thoughts are always with you and I hope I was able to bring you a bit of sunshine and positive energy.

Pauvre Louis-Pascal! / Poor LP!

Pauvre Louis-Pascal, il a tombé endormit dans son backpack pendant qu'on faisait du jardinage sur le terrain. Jean-Michel, qui le portait sur son dos, s'en est pas apperçu tout de suite. J'ai de la difficulté à croire que c'est comfortable cette position là... C'est l'heure du dodo je crois!
Poor LP, he fell asleep in his backpack while we were gardening in the yard. JM, who had him on his back, didn't notice he fell asleep until we came inside for a break. It doesn't look like a very comfortable place to sleep... I think it's bedtime!

Happy Birthday Papa! / Bonne fête papa!

C'était la fête à Jean-Michel mardi et nous avons célébré avec un peu de temps de couple... Louis-Pascal est allé visiter grand-papa et grand-maman pendant que nous sommes allés au restaurant, avons visionné un film et but beaucoup de vin! Et nous avons dormi jusqu'à 8h le lendemain matin!! Louis-Pascal n'était même pas si excité que ça de voir Christiane ce matin là lorsque grand-papa l'a rapporté à la maison... on s'est amusé sans papa et maman apparament!! Je crois que quelqu'un sera pas mal correct lorsque maman recommencera à travailler, et ce n'est pas maman. Et oui, Christiane a eu un emploi et commence le 16 juin. Enterprise Fredericton l'a accueilli comme Agente de développement d'entreprises; une nouvelle aventure.
It was JM's birthday on Tuesday, and we celebrated with a bit of alone time... LP went to visit grand-papa and grand-maman for the evening while we had reservations at a nice restaurent, watched a movie and drank lots of wine. A date! And we slept in until 8am the next morning!! LP wasn't even that excited to see Chris that morning when grand-papa brought him home, he obviously had fun. I think someone will be ok when maman goes back to work, and it isn't maman. So now is the time to announce that Chris found a job and her first day is June 16th. Enterprise Fredericton has taken her in as a Business Development Officer; a new adventure.

Voici quelques photos de Louis-Pascal dernièrement (remarquez qu'elles ont été prises AVANT sa coupe de cheveux, il a encore ses ailes). Il est trop drôle quand il mange, un petit monstre qui INSISTE se nourrir seul, sans l'aide de papa et maman. J'envisione des aventures très intéressantes dans le future pour papa et maman avec cette attitude!
Here are a few picks of LP eating recently (notice they were taken BEFORE the hair cut, he still has the wings). He's hilarious when he eats, a little monster that INSISTS on eating without help. I can sense great adventures in the future for papa and maman with that attitude!
