Ça y'est, les cravings on commencés... Christiane ne peut pas avoir assez de sushi rolls. Une chance que Jean-Michel est capable d'en faire à la maison. ;)The cravings must have started... Chris can't get enough sushi rolls. Thank goodness JM is a pro at making them at home. ;)
On est aller magasiner pour du linge de maternité pour la première fois hier. La majorité des pantalons à Christiane commencent à être trop petit au tour de la taille, et on aurait pu attendre encore un peu... mais on avait de la difficulté à se retenir! Saskatoon a pas mal de magasins de maternité/bébé.
Dans le premier magasin ou on est arrêté, il y avait une "bédaine" en foam que Christiane pouvait mettre pour voir comment elle aurait l'air à six mois. Très drôle, mais ça donnait une idée comment les vêtements allait faire. C'était difficile au début de trouver des vêtements qui ne tombaient pas comme une tente ou des pantalons qui ne montaient pas jusqu'aux seins (hm-hm, trrrrrès sexy, Christiane avait de la difficulté avec ça.) mais Jean-Michel était vraiment bon à choisir des vêtements... Et à essayer la "bédaine" lui aussi. Et en fin de compte, on a pu trouver des choses superbes et pas mal cutes. On s'est vraiment amuser, malgré les vendeuses un peu trop tannantes à faire leur ventes. La business qui se fait au tour de la maternité/bébé est vraiment poussée... C'est devenu évident et agaçant pas mal vite.
Et par après, il fallait bien sur aller magasiner pour Jean-Michel aussi... pas de bédaine qui pousse pour lui pas contre, mais il vaut la peine de vous laisser savoir qu'il a des brûlements d'estomac comme Christiane! Très drôle.
We went shopping for maternity clothes for the first time yesterday. The majority of Chris' pants are starting to get small around the waste, and we maybe could have waited a bit longer... but we couldn't resist the urge to check out these stores. Saskatoon has a good number of mathernity/baby stores.
The first store we were at had this foam "tummy" that Chris could put on to see how she would look at six months. Very funny, but it was mostly to help see how the clothes would fit. It was hard at first to find clothes that did not hang like a tent or pants that did not cover aaaaaall you tummy up to your breasts (hm-hm, reeeeeal sexy, Chris had a hard time with that.) but JM was really good at picking out great clothes... and trying out the "tummy" too. So we eventually managed to find some really nice and cute stuff. We really had fun, even though the sales staff were getting annoying and clingy. The maternity/baby business is really intense... it got annoying pretty quickly.
And of course, we had to go shopping for JM too... no tummy growing for him, but it's worth noting that he does get heartburn like Chris though! Very funny.
La semaine passée, lors du rendez-vous chez le docteur, nous avons entendu le battements de coeur du bébé! Quelle surprise... je ne sais pas à quoi on s'attendait, mais c'était beau. Christiane n'arrêtait pas de rigoler. Le rythme était de 180 battements la minute... donc garçon, ou fille??
Prochain rendez-vous au mois de février... ultrason. Voici une première photo de la bédaine à Christiane au 3e mois. Pas grand chose, mais une petite bédaine qui commence à paraître! 
Last week we went to the doctor's for our monthly appointment and got to hear the heartbeat of the foetus. Wow... it made our reality sink in a little more. Chris was giggling constantly, which made keeping the sonar on the heart difficult, but we got to hear it beating at 180 beats/minute. About the rate of a mouse! We're taking bets on whether it's a boy or girl - the baby that is, not the mouse.
Our next visit will be towards the end of February, and then we'll have our first ultrasound. But first, here's a picture of Chris' belly at 3 months. Not much more than usual, but it's starting to show...

Christiane va très bien... à 14 semaines, pas de grosse bédaine encore. Jean-Michel aura bientôt fini sa thèse, donc on commence à chercher pour des emplois et à penser aux endroits ou on aimerait se retrouver. Tache se croit encore le nombril de notre monde...

Chris is well... at 14 weeks, no big belly yet. JM will soon be done his thesis, so we're starting to think about jobs and where we'd like to live. Tache still thinks she's the centre of our universe...
