Maison à vendre / House for Sale

Our house went up for sale today... sort of exciting but sort of sad at the same time. Our first house, and we've put a lot of energy into renovating it to make a little profit... and the Saskatoon market is also in our favour right now so we can't wait to see what we'll walk away with. We're selling it on our own for the first week to see if we can get it done without an agent. We have 2 open houses this weekend already. The house looks better than before doesn't it? No more pink/purple facia!! Who the f--- thinks to put such colors on a house, I don't know. I guess we're also the idiots who bought it though and kept it there for 2 years!

JM is really tired from finishing all the renos, he's been working non stop. Not only on the house, but at work as well, trying to finish the last details of his thesis. And not to mention doing the things that Chris can't do anymore (or that he won't let her do - but we won't go there right now). We can't wait to have a weekend just to relax. But we know that once this house is sold, it will just be one adventure after another... buying a house... paperwork... baby... packing... moving... unpacking. Hurh. We just don't want to think about it right now, too much all at once. Hopefully we can enjoy ourselves a bit in the middle of all that.

For the moment, we're just excited to see what kind of investment this will turn out to be. We' ve already pinpointed a few properties in Guelph which could be good investments as well, so that's also getting us excited. And that's aside from the exciting belly thing that could happen anytime now. Chris also can't wait to get a baby room started. It's been a downer that we have not been able to get that ready in this house, but since we won't even be here a month with the baby, it isn't worth it. And Chris is also excited to finish work, her last day is Friday July 13th, 2 weeks left. And yes, Friday the 13th... so in-tune to the theme of this job. And baby is due 2 weeks after that, July 28th... although we both wish it was sooner, but for very different reasons!

So cross your fingers for us that we can get this place sold this week... the sooner we can do that, the sooner we can look at moving back out east! ;)

Bye-Bye Norm

Norm est parti très tôt ce matin, son avion est parti à 2hoo ce matin! Un autre red-eye... et après un longue semaine de tavaille, on espère que le voyage ne sera pas trop dur pour lui, malgré que Cécile sera surement là pour le prendre soin! ;) Mais MERCI Norm pour nous avoir aidé cette semaine et pour avoir fait le long voyage jusqu'en SK. On a vraiment apprécié ta visite pis ça l'a fait du bien de te voir. Ça fait tellement du bien recevoir de la famille chez nous. xox!!
Norm left this morning, his plane left at 2am! Another redeye... poor Norm, especially after a long week of hard work. Hopefully the trip won't be too hard on him although I'm sure Cécile will take care of him upon his arrival! ;) But THANK YOU Norm for all your help this week and for making the long trip to SK. We really appreciated your company and it was so nice to see you. It really feels nice to have family over. xox!!

Alors voici quelques photos des gars. Norm au travail et ensuite une couple de photos de notre soirée à la pêche, un break bien mérité pour les gars. C'était plutôt Norm et Christiane qui regardaient Jean-Michel pêcher, mais c'était relaxant au bord de l'eau.

So here are a few pics of the boys. Norm working and then a couple of pics of when we went fishing - they needed an evening off. Well it was mostly Norm and Chris watching JM fish, but it was relaxing by the water.

Pas de photos de la maison finit à l'extérieur encore, nous avons oublié d'en prendre hier, et aujourd'hui il pleut à boire debout. Pas mal spécial que nous avons eu de la pluie la journée avant que Norm arrive en SK, et la journée après son départ.
I can't send a picture of the outside of the house finished yet, we forgot to do this yesterday and today, it's just pooring outside. How convenient that it rained the day before and the day after Norm was in SK.

Mais, je sais que vous voulez des photos de bédaine aussi... donc voilà. C'est tout ce qu'on a pour le moment. À chaque fois que Jean-Michel prends des photos, Christiane est soit en pyjamas ou en guenille... pas de belless options pour afficher sur un blog.

Although I'm sure you want to see belly pics, so here you go. This is the best we have right now. Each time JM takes shots of Chris lately, she's either in her PJs or in raggy clothes. Not great options to post on a blog.

Christiane a presque finit sa 36e semaine... donc seulement 4.5 semaines avant la date prévue pour l'accouchement. Bédaine est grosse, et Christiane comment vraiment à se sentir grosse aussi. Aussi grosse qu'une baleine ou peut-être juste une grosse baloune. Ça commence à être incomfortable, mais c'est quand même pas si pire que cela. Presque 30lbs de grossesse ça commence à être trop... On veut tellement que ce petit poupon sorte déjà pour qu'on puisse le voir, ça commence à être énervant! Elle est pas mal sur que bébé à descendu déjà, car depuis hier les visites à la salle de bain sont tout d'un coup beaucoup plus fréquentes (and already annoying) et elle dort mieux. Aaaaaany time now baby, sérieusement!

Chris is almost done her 36th week... so only 4.5 weeks to go before the expected due date. Belly is big, and Chris is starting to feel pretty big now too. She compares it to being a whale, or maybe just a big balloon. It's uncomfortable now, although still not that bad really. Almost 30lbs of pregancy is starting to be too much... Let's just get this little thing out already so we can take a look at it already! She's pretty sure baby has dropped, since yesterday, the trips to the bathroom are much more frequent all of a sudden (and already annoying) and she's sleeping better. Aaaaaany time now baby, seriously.

Les hommes au travail / Men at Work

Ben, j'vous ai promis des photos des hommes au travail... cute hun? Ils ont travaillé fort aujourd'hui et il faisait chaud. Il y a encore beaucoup de peinturage à faire, mais ça commence déjà à être beau. Notre première maison va surement nous manquer...
Well I promised some pictures of the men at work... nice hun? They worked hard today and it was hot. There's still tones of painting to do, but it's already starting to look nice. I'm sure we'll miss our first house...

Norm!

Norm, le père à Christiane, est arrivé à Saskatoon à 2h00 ce matin (ouch.), pour nous aider à finir les rénovations de la maison pour qu'on puisse la mettre à vendre la semaine prochaine. Tache était certainement impressioné d'avoir de la visite... c'est elle qui à reveillé Norm ce matin avec un bas sale, pis elle le suit partout.
Norm, Chris' father, arrived in Saskatoon at 2am this morning (ouch.), to help us finish the house renovations in order for us to be able to put it up for sale next week. Tache was certainly impressed to have company... she's the one that woke him up this morning with a dirty sock and follows him all over the place.

So pendant que Christiane travaille ses derniers jours à la Symphonie, les hommes travaillent fort à la maison. Aujourd'hui, ils ont arrangé et finit la porte d'en arrière et ont commencé à finir le facia dehors. Les voilà en train de relaxer ce soir devant la télé avec une bière.
So while Chris goes to work to finish her last days at the Symphony, the men work at home. Today they finished the installation of the new back door et started attacking the facia which needs repainting. Here they are relaxing after supper with the tv and beer.

Ce sera une autre semaine plaisante avec de la famille... on affichera d'autres textes cette semaine! Et peut-être même des photos des hommes en train de travailler au lieu de relaxer. ;) okok, c'était peut-être aussi une tactique pour avoir de la famille venir nous visiter... donc on ne fera pas Norm trvailler trop fort quand même!

It will be a fun week with family again... we'll post some updates this week! Maybe a few shots of the men actually working as opposed to relaxing! ;) okok, this might also have been a good excuse to get family to visit...so we won't make Norm work that hard!

Guelph

Après quelques mois d'attente et de recherche, nous avons finallement un plan et une direction après que Jean-Michel aura finit sa thèse, vers la fin du mois de juillet. Jean-Michel ira faire un poste-doc à l'Université de Guelph, en Ontario. Donc nous déménageons cet été!
After a few months of waiting and reserching, we finally have a plan and some direction after JM will have his thesis completed, towards the end of July. JM will be doing a post-doc at the University of Guelph, Ontario. Sor we're moving this summer!

Ce sera un été très occupé et chargé de changements... le bébé est due pour le 28 juillet, Christiane termine sa job... hum, on ne sait pas trop quand -juin/juillet?, Jean-Michel doit finir et défendre sa thèse, nous devons vendre la maison au mois de juin/juillet (après avoir finit les dernières rénovations nécéssaires), acheter une nouvelle maison et déménager au mois d'août. Ce ne sera pas un été relaxant... Un déménagement vers l'est nous plaît beaucoup par contre et Jean-Michel à de la famille du côté à son père dans la région. Les voyages au Nouveau-Brunswick seront alors plus faciles... et nous espérons aussi recevoir plus de visite maintenant!
It will be a very busy summer, full of changes... the baby is due July 28, Chris' job ends....we still don't know when-June/July?, JM has to finish and defend his thesis, we need to sell the house in June/July (after all the necessary renovations are completed), buy a new house and move in August. It won't be a relaxing summer... but a move towards the East is nice and JM has family from his father's side in the area. The trips back to New Brunswick will be easier... and we hope to have more visits from family now too!

Donc Guelph nous paraît comme une belle petite ville. Regarder pour des maisons sur l'Internet est l'fun pour le moment, mais il va probablement falloir faire y aller avant le mois d'août pour faire un achat. Christiane à déjà hâte d'apprendre à connaître la ville (on à déjà localisé la communauté francophone et le centre communautaire), et chercher un emploi.
So Guelph seems like a nice little city, looking for houses online has been fun so far, but we might have to make a trip down there before August to actually purchase something. Chris is already getting anxious to get to know the city (we've already located the francophone community and its community center) and start looking for a job.
