Tache

Here's a good shot of Tache that my sister-in-law Amanda took. Poor thing has no idea that she will be bumped down the family hierarchy once again...

And no, it's not the picture, she really does look like a dirty, hairy, old man, but she's actually one bright committed girl.

Noel 2009 chez les deVink/Guérette

My favorite pic... JM got a fishing vest in his stocking for his best fishing buddy. LP tried it on and tested his new fishing net at the same time (No, it's not Noir in there.). Priceless photo, too bad I didn't get JM's face in there too, he was pretty proud of LP's attire, PJs included.
JM spent the morning assembling toys, and LP helping with his new drill.
Tache aussi a des cadeaux...
And apparently all I could do is eat jell-o fruit salad...
Louis-Pascal a eu beaucoup trop de chocolat!
Notre sapin de Noel... avec notre traditionel orignal sur le dessus, qui en effet va très bien avec le theme de l'année on pourrait dire.
Bedtime story... and LP has recently discovered that his nose has boogers and has no reservations about picking it in public or for the camera, no matter what we say.

It was nice knowing you Noir...

For those following the blog on a regular basis, you're probably wondering how Noir is doing. Well, JM and I have concluded that we are not a fish family. To keep them alive that is, bring on the sushi though.

Noir, Gaston, or whatever his name was, passed away very late Christmas Eve, predeceased by his roomy Popsicle a couple of weeks before. Probably due to a series of events that day. LP decided to feed him and dumped the entire can of food in the tank (classic). But then wanted to add rocks to the tank so dumped about 25 big rocks that he found in my plant pots. So water, or rather, stinky fish-food soup, was over flowing and I only wish I could have been there to see JM's reaction when he discovered LP after he was calling him because he couldn't get the cover of the can of fish food out of the tank.

JM did "save" Noir and cleaned up the tank back to normal... but it was probably too much action for one little fish in one day as we discovered him motionless at the bottom of the tank that evening.

It was nice to have you around for a few weeks Noir, hope you had a better life before you came here...

Anyone want a fish tank? Filter, thermometer, rocks and plastic plants included.

deVink/Leblanc petits-enfants / Grandkids

On the deVink/Leblanc side of the family, there is a tradition where we take pics of the grandkids together for Christmas, and hand them out to family... since we think they're so darn cute. Here they are and thanks Amanda for doing this so last minute!
And yes, doudou made the cut for this picture. LP ran to his room out of nowhere, came back with doudou and out of breath saying "Ouf!", sat back down at his spot then said "sourire doudou!!". Too funny, we had a good laugh... hence Gabe's funny look. And thanks to Max and Amanda who have already made sure that JS will have a doudou (x3 as well)... but green for this one! And LP seems very ok with it... OUF!!!

Joyeux Noel! / Merry Christmas!

Que ce temps des Fetes soient pleines de joie, d'amour et de rires! Joyeux Noel!
May this Holiday season be filled with joy, love and tones of laughter! Merry Christmas!

LP's First Trapping Experience

LP got up early this morning and went for his first adventure trapping with JM and his buddy Willy. It was too cute... can't wait to hear how it went. But I think he was more excited by the fact they were stopping at Tim's for a donut on their way (which for LP, a donut means a honey glazed timbit that he gets way too excited about!!). Makes me think of my brother Max when he was a kid, he didn't get sweets often, but when he heard the word "Boston Cream" or "Tim Hortons", you could make him do anything! (haha Max...)
Christmas tree decorating after they get back... a little late, but give me a break with a 37-week-big belly, selling a house, working and trying to finish other projects before it seems everything else happens all at once!

aaaaaah. ;)

Never Busy Enough: We're Moving!

The deVink/Guérette family has been looking for an investment for the past few months... any property in town which might be good to fix up and sell down the road, so we can have a similar repeat to our house flip in Saskatoon.

Timing is never right when opportunity comes knocking at our place... but that's how we like it I guess! Busy as ever.

So we finally found something... with horrible wallpaper, horrible carpets, yellow and beige paint throughout, 70s kitchen AND bathroom (yes, that means the yellow tub and the green toilet) and wait...wait... PANELING throughout the basement. Woot! But all in all, its a very solid house with a GREAT layout, HUGE windows, GREAT yard, 2 fireplaces, GREAT location and an amazing view. Investment potential??? You betch ya... that's all were smelling right now, it's even making me not mind all the painting and wallpaper riping I will have to do (you should see this stuff...). I know, Chris is due in less than 4 weeks... and JUST painted the baby room... but maybe there was a reason we bought way too much paint? (So GP et GM... feel like helping me paint again?? We have tones left over from the first time!)

So our house went up on the market Monday night... and I was going to say check it out, but it sold on Friday, before I had time to update the blog. Conditional for the moment until Thursday, but pretty good! Tks Darrin, our favorite realtor...

So it looks like at the end of January, beginning of February, we will be in our new 70s style home, ready to renovate!! Window shopping at Home Depot was already WAY too much fun on Friday...

PS - Noir is still alive. LP decided, out of nowhere though, to give hm a new name: Gaston. I have no idea where he thought of that, but he was certainly confident of his answer when Grandpa asked him what the name of his fish was!! He makes us laugh everyday that kid...

JM got a moose afterall...

No moose during hunting season (see past blog posts...), but I guess an encounter with one was meant to be this season for him because he hit one this morning with his truck. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's ok, he saw it coming early, thank goodness. BUT his lovely toy, I mean truck, is really not. The moose really did a number on it, and he is actually quite lucky that he was not hurt I realized, after I got a good look at the truck. Thank goodness he was in the truck and not the car. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Poor JM... he's taking the damage to his truck quite well so far... ;)

2 new additions to the family?

So I was going to post tonight that we got 2 new additions to the family over the weekend... Popsicle and Noir, LP's new fish. Our friends gave us a tiny aquarium that they were not using, and LP was really impressed with his friend Audrey's aquarium, so we figured it might be nice to get him some fish. Espcially since he loooooooooooves anything fish or fishing related (he even has a framed picture of a fish that he has to keep by his bed, no joke). BUT....... we are obviously not fish people (aside from eating them) because Popsicle is already dead as of a few hours ago. oops.

So we have 1 new addition to the family. Noir the fish is a tiny little fish that LP loves to feed twice a day. He taps on the glass and likes to talk about him. But that's pretty much it. Thank goodness he didn't really care that Papa got rid of Popsicle. Gross.

Let's see how long Noir makes it...

hahaha!

Reconnaissez vous quelqu'un dans ce vidéo? Regardez jusqu'a la toute fin! hahaha.
