The deVink/Guérette family has been looking for an investment for the past few months... any property in town which might be good to fix up and sell down the road, so we can have a similar repeat to our house flip in Saskatoon.
Timing is never right when opportunity comes knocking at our place... but that's how we like it I guess! Busy as ever.
So we finally found something... with horrible wallpaper, horrible carpets, yellow and beige paint throughout, 70s kitchen AND bathroom (yes, that means the yellow tub and the green toilet) and wait...wait... PANELING throughout the basement. Woot! But all in all, its a very solid house with a GREAT layout, HUGE windows, GREAT yard, 2 fireplaces, GREAT location and an amazing view. Investment potential??? You betch ya... that's all were smelling right now, it's even making me not mind all the painting and wallpaper riping I will have to do (you should see this stuff...). I know, Chris is due in less than 4 weeks... and JUST painted the baby room... but maybe there was a reason we bought way too much paint? (So GP et GM... feel like helping me paint again?? We have tones left over from the first time!)
So our house went up on the market Monday night... and I was going to say check it out, but it sold on Friday, before I had time to update the blog. Conditional for the moment until Thursday, but pretty good! Tks Darrin, our favorite realtor...
So it looks like at the end of January, beginning of February, we will be in our new 70s style home, ready to renovate!! Window shopping at Home Depot was already WAY too much fun on Friday...
PS - Noir is still alive. LP decided, out of nowhere though, to give hm a new name: Gaston. I have no idea where he thought of that, but he was certainly confident of his answer when Grandpa asked him what the name of his fish was!! He makes us laugh everyday that kid...

VERY ambitious guys! Congratulations! Brendan and I always seem to find opportunities that time with baby births too. I say take all the stressful stuff on at once, and it's like water off a duck's back--it doesn't affect you! I can't wait to see your new place (seventies decor or otherwise).
Take care,
Kelly :)
I always find more energy after I talk to you Kelly!! ;) Tks...
Hugs and kisses to the kids from us... we miss you.
