Tache
Pour ceux qui n'ont pas encore rencontré Tache, la voici. Notre GROS bébé de 3 ans, un Deutsch Drahthaar, qui resemble plus a un vieux bonhomme 
poilu (bien noter sa barbe et ses sourcis) qu'un beau toutou, mais on l'aime quand même. La photo ci-jointe a été prise cet été dans notre cours arrière, pendant qu'elle jouait sans cesse avec une de ses balles, qui est tellement typique de Tache. Elle est en effet une chienne très intélligente et merveilleuse à avoir alentour... mais elle est quand même un gros patouffe gâté. Essentiellement, elle se croit le centre de notre univers.
For those of you who have not yet met Tache, here she is. Our BIG 3 year old baby, a Deutsch Drahthaar that looks more like an old harry man (notice the unibrow and beard) then a nice fluffy dog, but we love her anyways. The attached photo was taken in our backyard last summer, while she was playing with one of her many balls, which is so typical of Tache. She's actually an amazingly smart dog and fun to have around... but she's spoiled. Basically, she thinks she's the center of our universe.
Donc, vous pouvez seulement vous imaginez le choc que Tache va avoir dans quelques mois. Jean-Michel décrit Tache comme une chienne à charatère déterminé... Christiane dit plutôt intense . Quand elle veux se faire flatter, c'est toujours une collade intense; quand elle ronge son os, c'est un ronge intense; quand elle s'ennuie de Jean-Michel, c'est un pleur INTENSE dans la garde robe; quand elle veut aller dehors, c'est une alarme intense; quand elle joue, c'est intensement long. Malgré qu'elle jappe rarement, elle a un désire intense de rencontrer des gens. Elle adore les enfants... mais bien sur, de façon intense. Voici une photo de Paul, notre fieul, et Tache qui joue... mais Tache 
a clairement l'intension d'attendre au cas au Paul échapperait son biscuit. La prochaine photo est Tache qui ronge son os intensement SUR Norm, le père à Christiane, pour qu'elle puisse se coller en même temps. Norm n'a pas l'air à se pleindre. ;) Et puis finallement, Tache qui se colle SUR Christiane et Jean-Michel (qui voulaient de se coller SANS elle), SUR le divan. We know - GÂTÉE POURITE.
So you can only imagine the chock Tache will go through in a few months. JM describes Tache as a dog with determined charater... Chris says is simply intense. When she wants attention, it's always intense cuddling; When she chews her bone, she chews it until there's nothing left - intense; When she misses JM, she whines INTENSLY in the closet; When she wants to go out, it's an intense alarm; When she plays, it's forever intense. Although she rarely barks, she does have this intense desire to meet and lick everyone. She adores kids... but intensly of course. This is a photo of Paul, our godchild, and Tache cuddling... but Tache's intention are clearly to wait for Paul to drop the cookie. The next photo is Tache intensly chewing her bone ON Norm, Chris' father, so she can get some cuddling in at the same time. Norm doesn't seem to mind. ;) And finally, Tache ON Chris and JM (who were trying to cuddle
WITHOUT her), ON the couche... We know - SPOILED.
Donc Tache vivra une expérience traumatisante avec l'arrivé d'un AUTRE "bébé". Mais un bébé qui prends beaucoup plus d'attention qu'elle. Et elle ne s'adapte pas si bien au changement; quand Jean-Michel a installé les plancher en bois-franc dans notre maison... elle s'est sauvé. Quand on l'a laissé chez une gardienne de chien incroyablement gentille (qui l'a aussi gâté) pour les vacances de Noël... elle s'est sauvé.
So Tache will experience a traumatizing chock... ANOTHER "baby". But a baby which will take much more attention than her. And she's not so good at adapting to change; when JM installed hardwood floors in our house... she ran away. When we left her with an amazingly nice doggy-sitter
(who also spoiled her) over the Christmas holidays... she ran away.
Donc il va falloir vraiment faire attention avec Tache pour qu'elle puisse bien s'ajuster. On aura surement des histoires intéressantes à vous raconter...
So we'll have to really be careful with Tache, so she can adjust well. We will surely have interesting stories to share with you...

Ça bouge! / There's movement!
Christiane a senti le bébé bouger ce soir!! Ben, considérant que c'est la première fois qu'on vit cette expérience, on croit que c'est le bébé... C'est vraiment incroyable et excitant, comme un radar qui s'est tout d'un coup allumé. Christiane le sent tout le temps maintenent. Jean-Michel est jaloux... encore plusieurs semaines encore pour qu'il puisse sentir les mouvements à son tour, de l'extérieur.
À part ça, les choses vont toujours bien. Christiane a parfois des petits malaises au ventre, apparament ce sont des ligaments qui s'étirent. Dépandant de ce qu'elle porte, on peut parfois vraiment voir une 'tite bédaine! C'est apparu tout dernièrement, cette semaine on dirait... mais c'est vraiment pas grand chose encore. Elle croit encore qu'elle a l'air plus à un tronc d'arbre qu'une femme enceinte... mais ça viendra avec le temps.
Christiane est allée magasiner pour d'autres vêtements de maternité... ça commence à être excitant, puis elle se sent plus belle pour Jean-Michel avec du linge qui lui font mieux.
Chris felt the baby move tonight!! Well, considering this is the first time we live through this experience, we're guessing it's the baby... Chris can feel it all the time now though, like if it's this sensor that has been turned on all of a sudden. It's really quite exciting. JM is jealous... a few more weeks still until he can feel the little one from the other side.
Aside from that, things are still going well. Chris sometimes has small pains in her stomach, apparently they're related to her ligaments streching. Depending on what she wears now, you can tell she has a tiny belly. Seems to have showed up just very recently, in the alst week even... but it's really not much yet. She still feels like a tree trunk as opposed to a pregnant woman, but it will come shortly.
Chris went shopping for more maternity clothes... it's getting fun now and she feels better now that she has more clothes she feels nice in.
C'est tout pour le moment... plus de nouvelles demain concernant les ajustements futurs à Tache. ;)

Début du 5e mois / Starting month 5
Tabarnouche ça change pas vite... On commence déjà notre 5e mois pis pas de "vrai" bédaine encore. (on a trop hâte.) Notre livre de référence nous dit que Christiane pourrait commencer à sentir le bébé n'importe quand... mais rien encore. Christiane se demande si elle est toujours enceinte... ;) On manque d'excitment! Mais on se contente pour le moment de visiter divers sites web qui expliquent ou en est le développement du bébé. A ce moment le bébé peut apparament sucer son pouce, bouger et même donner des coups. Incroyable.
Donc pas de grosse nouvelle pour le blog encore... mais vous serez les premiers à le savoir si on sent finallement le petit poupon bouger!
Shit this pregnancy thing doesn't change very fast... We're already starting our 5th month and no "real" tummy yet. Our reference book tells us Chris should feel the baby move anytime now... but nothing yet. Chris wonders if she's even still pregnant... ;) We need more excitment! (yeah-yeah, laugh) For the moment we have fun visiting different websites with information on the development of the baby. By now, the baby can already suck its thumb, kick and move around. Incredible.

Bédaine-bédaine x 4 mois / Belly-belly x 4 months
Ben, la bédaine après quatre mois n'est pas tellement plus grosse qu'après trois mois... Christiane va bien par contre, elle dort encore très bien et se sent normale. Elle continue d'avoir des brulûres d'estomac, mais avec des contenants de Tums un peu partout, elle trouve son remède à toutes heures de la journée. Jean-Michel va bien et commence à penser que Christiane aurait dû tomber enceinte plus tôt car ça lui donne la motivation de terminer sa thèse, et vite! Il pense encore être en chemin pour terminer son degré avant l'été, et aussi longtemps que l'hiver fou des prairies continue, ce sera longtemps avant qu'on voit l'été.
On a passé ce samedi dernier à faire des saucisses avec des amis. On en a fait deux sortes, aux thai et aux patates, avec notre viande de chevreuil. Dix heures plus tard, et plusieures visites en ville pour faire des commissions, on a terminé avec 100 livres de saucisses emballées. Une longue fin de semaine!
Well, it sure doesn't look like anything is growing in that little belly of Chris'. After four months, her stomac doesn't look any different than after three months. Chris is doing well and she feels normal. She continues to have heartburn, but with Tums bottles here and there she manages to find a remedy to that at all hours of the day. Jean-Michel is doing well and is starting to think that he should have gotten Chris pregnant sooner, since this has given him renewed motivation to finish his thesis, and in a hurry! He still thinks to be on track to finish before the summer, and as long as the prairie deep freeze continues, we don't expect to see summer for a very long time. So that gives him lots of flexibility to procrastinate still...
Last Saturday, we spent the day making sausage with friends. We made two kinds of sausage, Thai and Potato, with our deer meat. Ten hours later and several runs in town to pick up things we forgot or ran out of, we finished packing 100 pounds of sausage. That's a lot of meat!
