Visite de la Hollande / Company from Holland

Nous avons reçu de la belle visite de la Hollande cette semaine. Charissa, une étudiante en médecine vétérinaire est venue au Canada l'été 2005 pour un genre de programme d'étude spécial à l'Université de la Saskatchewan. Nous l'avions ébergé chez nous, elle et sa copine Marieke, pour quelques jours en attendant qu'elles se trouvent un appartement. Elles ont même gardé Tache et la maison pour quelques jours cet été là, pendant que nous étions parti en vacance. Donc ce fut un plaisir de la revoir en Saskatchewan cette semaine, après nous avoir annoncé qu'elle revenait au Canada, s'ayant trouvé un emploi à Kelowna, CB.
We had a visitor from Holland this on Thursday. Charissa, a recent veterinary medecine graduate, spend three months in 2005 in Saskatoon and stayed with us for two weeks along with her collegue Marieke. They were here to conduct some research in collaboration with a professor at the vet college here in Saskatoon. So, we were thrilled when she told us she would be back in Saskatoon for a few days to pass her Canadian veterinarian board exam in order to work in Kelowna, BC, for the next year. Obviously, she enjoyed her first visit to Canada! Marieke will also be returning to Saskatoon to complete her internship at the UofS vet college.

Tache et Charissa s'adore. Tache, comme d'habitude, apporte des cadeaux à la visite: des bas... Pour ceux qui connaisse bien Tache, vous savez qu'elle démontre son affection en vous apportant des bas... propres, sales, whatever, mais c'est pas toujours plaisant pour la visite. Donc Jean-Michel lui a fait mettre ses bas, pour lui donner une petite lesson. Trop drôle, et pauvre Tache n'était pas impressionée.
Charissa adores animals, no doubt, but she was particularly fond of Tache. Of course, in true Tache style she greeted Charissa with a gift of socks. Given that she had just acquired a pair of my old socks, I thought it would be funny to see how long Tache could actually wear the socks. Tache wasn't too impressed and refused to move for about 30 seconds before pulling them off.

Nous avons aussi eu notre visite régulière chez le docteur cette semaine et tout va très bien avec bébé et Christiane. Bébé commence vraiment à bouger beaucoup, mais à chaque fois que Jean-Michel pose sa main sur la bédaine pour sentir les mouvements, le bébé arrête. Espérons que cette influence calmante à Jean-Michel fonctionnera une fois que bébé viendra au monde!
We also had another visit with the doctor this week. Everything is progressing well and Christiane and baby are in good health. The baby is really starting to move these days and during an active spout we can actually see Chris' belly move. But when JM puts his hand on the belly to feel, invariably the baby stops moving. I guess we know who is going to be the one in charge of calming little (insert name here) when they are upset!
