Assemblage requis... / Assembly Required...

Nous avons acheté notre premier gros achat pour bébé hier - le carosse avec le siège d'auto. Et oui, il y avait de l'assemblage à faire mais Jean-Michel à ramasser son Gerber pas mal vite pis il nous a tout mis ça ensemble à l'intérieur de quelques minutes. Donc voilà le carosse à bébé, fait pour le jogging à Christiane aussi et un siège d'auto qui peut s'attacher dessu.
Some things we figured would be best to purchase new. So today we made our first big baby purchase - the stroller and carseat. Of course, nothing these days doesn't require a little assembly, so JM hauled out his Gerber multitool and within minutes it was done. So, there we go a jogging stroller so that Chris can get out and go running and a carseat to boot. What a great design...

Sandra et Christiane on aussi fait du magasinage de garage-sales samedi - avec pas mal de succès! Une PILE de linge de qualité ($5 pour un plein sac d'épicerie... donc vous pouvez imaginer le linge qu'elles ont ramassées) et des objets de toutes sortes pour bébé. Étant loin de la famille, on ne profite pas des hand-me-downs. Mais ce fut pas mal le fun de chercher et trouver des affaires de qualité ou peu usagé pour si peu. Pour ceux qui ne connaisse pas la Saskatchewan, c'est garage-sale country ici, c'est comme partie de la culture. Ça commence les mercredis pis ça finit les dimanche... partout. Y'a toute une technique à ça apparament... mais on s'est débrouillé assez bien hier!
Chris and Sandra went garage-saling again on Saturday with lots of success. Clothes were selling for $5 per full grocery bag, so you can just imaging how much clothes you get for $20! Most of the clothes were good quality as well, so that was quite the bargain. Being so far from family and friends, we can't benefit as easily from hand-me-downs, but this is the next best thing. For those unfamiliar with Saskatchewan, this is garage sale country - it is a part of the culture. They generally go from Wednesday to Sunday and often it is the whole block that puts it one together. The competition among shoppers is tough, but we made out pretty well.
